Sharing and collaboration
Share links, study rooms, embedding chud, and what each one exposes.
Sharing a chat#
A chat can be published to a read-only link. What is shared is a snapshot taken at that moment — the messages as they were, under a random token — so later messages in that conversation do not appear on the link, and anyone with the link can read it without an account.
- A share can be revoked, after which the link stops resolving.
- Attached files and images in the snapshot are visible to anyone with the link. Do not share a chat you attached something private to.
- Re-share to publish a newer snapshot.
Study rooms#
/m/rooms are shared chats with other people in them: create a room or join one with its code, and everyone in it talks to chud in the same thread. It is a Pro feature. Room messages are visible to every member, so a room is a group conversation and not a private one.
Workspace sharing#
A workspace can be shared with people by email or an invite code. Members can read and contribute to it; only the owner can delete it. See Workspaces for what a workspace holds.
Embedding it#
/m/embed generates a snippet that puts a chrome-free chud chat on your own site, served from /embed. It is a public surface by design — anyone who can load your page can use it, so treat it as a visitor-facing widget rather than access to your account.
